Fuzzy multi-criteria selection among transportation companies with fuzzy linguistic preference relations

چکیده
Selecting an appropriate transportation company is an important decision for an effective supply chain. This study attempts to solve transportation company selection problems initially addressed by Kulak and Kahraman in 2005, by adopting two methods. Consistent fuzzy preference relations presented by Herrera-Viedma et al. and fuzzy linguistic preference relations (fuzzy LinPreRa) developed by Wang and Chen in 2008. Analytical results indicate that both methods produce a consistent decision results from only n 1 pairwise comparisons. However, assigning linguistic variables to judgments is simpler and more intuitive than fixed value judgments. Therefore, the fuzzy LinPreRa is more suitable and efficient for providing rankings of transportation companies for making decisions. 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Incomplete Linguistic Preference Relations to Evaluate Multimedia Authoring System
MCMD problems with fuzzy preference information on alternatives are essential problems of the importance of weighting and ranking. In this study, the AHP method is reviewed, and then Fuzzy PreRa and incomplete linguistic preference relations methods are elucidated. This study applied above three MCDM methods to a software selection problem proposed by Lai et al. [Software selection: a case stud...
متن کاملA Multi-Criteria Analysis Model under an Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Environment with an Application to Production Project Decision Problems
Using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) to solve complicated decisions often includes uncertainty, which could be tackled by utilizing the fuzzy sets theory. Type-2 fuzzy sets consider more uncertainty than type-1 fuzzy sets. These fuzzy sets provide more degrees of freedom to illustrate the uncertainty and fuzziness in real-world production projects. In this paper, a new multi-criteria ana...
متن کاملApplying incomplete preference linguistic relations to criteria for evaluating multimedia authoring system
MCMD problems with fuzzy preference information on alternatives are essential problems of the importance of weighting and ranking. Xu [14] proposed a method with incomplete linguistic preference relations method that decision makers obtain a matrix by choosing a finite and fixed set of alternatives and performing a pairwise comparison based on their different preference and knowledge. The objec...
متن کاملEvaluation and ranking of suppliers with fuzzy DEA and PROMETHEE approach
Supplier selection is a multi-Criteria problem. This study proposes a hybrid model for supporting the suppliers’ selection and ranking. This research is a two-stage model designed to fully rank the suppliers where each supplier has multiple Inputs and Outputs. First, the supplier evaluation problem is formulated by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), since the regarded decision deals with uncertai...
متن کاملMulti-criteria Decision Making Using Fuzzy Preference Relations
When dealing with multi-criteria decision making problems, the concept of Pareto-optimality and Pareto-dominance may be inefficient (e.g. generally multiple solutions exist), especially when there is a large number of criteria. Our paper considers the fuzzy multi-criteria decision making problem based on Zadeh’s linguistic approach to P-optimality and P-dominance. The construction, analysis and...
